Martins Bank 1928+

Sep 1.jpg

Leeds has a combined Trustee and Investment Department based at Martins Bank’s District Office 28/30 Park Row. We have very few details about this department, and only a few extremely short pieces about some of the staff published in Martins Bank Magazine.

Using information from the Martins Staff Database, we were able to find that this office was opened in September 1936 by Mr H Elphee who remained there until moving to Liverpool Trustee Dept in 1949.

In Service: September 1936 until 21 November 1969

(try) Best of Both worlds…

Brian Webster (Leeds Trustee and investment) captained Martins Leeds and Craven Districts XV in what may have been their last game – a match against Barclays. Martins lost by two tries to two goals. Brian was later invited to play for Barclays’ Leeds District team in their match against Darlington. The Leeds side won 16-2.
