Hutton Rudby is a sub branch
to Stokesley, close to Middlesbrough, Yorkshire.  With the emergence of new place names and
the changes to county boundaries that will take place in the 1970s, it is
becoming increasingly hard to remember that most of these places began their
existence in Yorkshire. Despite being open for a reduced number of hours each
week, Hutton Rudby sub-Branch has a good run, opening in the 1920s, and after
Martins, remaining open as a Branch of Barclays until April 2000.  The address of this office is clearly
recorded in martins Bank’s Directory at 9 South Side, Hutton Rudby. Curiously
however, the 1968 Middlesbrough telephone directory has the branch address
listed both as 9 Southside and 38 Northside, Hutton Rudby. Maybe customers
could use the BACK door too? Perhaps you know why – please get in touch at
  the usual address, gutinfo@btinternet.com
