  The
Cicala players are so named after the Telegraphic Address of 68 Lombard
Street London Office – “CICALA LONDON”. The meaning of the word Cicala is grasshopper,
which is of course most appropriate given 68 Lombard Street’s History of
being “at the sign of the grasshopper”.
We have now added details of all thirty-one performances staged by the
Cicala Players between 1947 and 1965. Just like their Liverpool counterparts
the Argosy Players, the Cicala group are not only extremely accomplished and
very well polished, but also prolific in staging quality productions year
